The Inside Story

These paintings examine “home” through created rooms. These intimate portrayals ask for contemplation while challenging reality.  As an artist, I read a room and paint my  response to it. The room is both real and not real.

I explore the tensions between physical absence, and familial bonds, between historical roots and the contemporary landscape. Sometimes my rooms are refuge, sometimes they are strange, almost always there is a wonky touch, indicating individual and familial uniqueness.
